Xavier De Le Rue’s new Prototype

IMG_4501.jpg

You can imagine my excitement in seeing the results of Xavier De Le Rue’s new prototype snowboard with one of my images on it. Not only is Xavier a good friend but one of the most respected people in the industry. Throughout his 22 year career he has travelled the world with his board, from the Kuril islands, to Antarctica, Svalbard to Spain always moving forward and evolving in what he does to keep it interesting for himself and his loyal followers. As one of the nicest guys around, humble, deeply talented in many areas, fun and relaxed, Xav had earned every bit of his well deserved recognition.

As well as being 4 x World Boardercross Champion. and 3 x Freeride World Tour Champion, and starring in numerous films, he is also the creator of the ‘How to XV’ series in which he passes on the many tricks and tips that he has learnt along the way. From using your transceiver through to dropping cliffs, camping on snow to planning your first tour and a whole lot more.

So I feel immensely proud that he has chosen one of my images for his prototype snowboard. The image is of the impressive mountain panorama he can see from our hometown of Verbier. Here is a video of the production process:
